RetrofitTools.com is home to a handful of individuals involved in maintenance, repair, and daily use of older CNC machine tools, particularly American and Japanese “heavy iron” from the late 1980s and early 1990s, when these were some of the best machines being built.
As part of the American “rust belt” economy, we are trying to cost-effectively use selected bits of modern technology to help keep heavy manufacturing running.
Our focus is primarily on larger machines, but our efforts are really applicable to anyone trying to keep alive any size machine.
